Title: Illuminated Button Issues
Post by: motherfuckerjones on April 06, 2014, 01:05:58 AM
I got an illuminated button for my DNA30 build and am having some trouble.  Its a stainless steel button with a blue lighted ring around the outside of the button.  Ideally, i'd like it to not be lit until I press the button and then have it light up while pressed.  I can't seem to figure the wiring out to get it to work right.  The button works fine when it's wired into the DNA but when I wire to the posts for the light ring, the light comes on without it being pressed and goes off when I press it; the exact opposite of what id like it to do.

The button has 4 posts on the bottom; 2 for the button that are unmarked, and 2 for the light; 1 with a + and 1 with a -.  Any idea on the proper way to wire it to make it function properly?  I got it off Digikey and the spec sheet has nothing on it.

I'd consider reversing the light wires

You need to build a circuit for that, but I am of no use in that area.
