In pursuit of FVT clone measurement sanity
« on: July 27, 2013, 04:49:42 PM »
Don't mind me....
---------------------

Blewts recipe with drops....

FVT Clone
Yields 1 10ml bottle

1 ml FV Flavoring
9 ml Premixed Base*
3 drops TA**

*I mix my base at around 14mg. 7 ml of 100 mg PG base in a 50ml graduated cylinder and then fill it the rest of the way with VG thinned with a little distilled water
**this is regular TA cut 50/50 with PGA, so it's easier to work with. It's really strong shit but I use 4 drops per 10 ml (Yes. I recommend 3 drops for starters, but you can do 4 if you want it to punch you in the fucking face). TPA TA should work fine, but be sure to cut it with the Everclear.

---

Gonna try turning this into a real recipe...  No drops allowed...
--------------------------------------------------------------
Guess at 40 drops per ml to get it all in the same units.

40 drops FVT flavor
360 drops nic premixed
3 drops TA 50/50 PGA
-----
403

40/403 = .099
360/403 =  .893
3/403=  .007

so the TA 50/50 is less than 1 percent, call it 3/4 percent.

about the smallest amount I can measure accurately is 1/10 ml, which sounds like a little too much for a 10 ml batch.

Thinking I need to cut the TA some more or try a 30 ml batch @ .25 ml TA....

more pondering later..

Have a 3ml syringe? Drip flavoring into it until it hits the 1ml mark (counting the drops of course), then squirt the flavoring back into the bottle. You only have to do it once, no guessing needed.
Fuck you and your piece of shit troll forum.

Bah.  I don't know how big Blewt's drops were.  But yeah, I'm going to try it with the faget drops first.  At the moment my fucking TA isn't even in a dropper bottle.  Ima gettin there.

I "borrowed" mine from work. I have 2 of them. One goes from 0-1ml in 10ul increments, and the other goes from 0-10mls in .1ml increments.
They were like $75 each. I just grab a handful of tips when I need them.

I see they have a few on ebay, but most of them are only micro. ie: like 0-1ml or something.

Here's the 1-10ml

This one is 1-5ml but it's a nicer used one.

Yeah, they're pretty expensive.

I also use 2ml and 10ml serological pipettes (the individually wrapped ones) with either a vacuum ball or a thumbwheel/trigger type.

But....getting those 88c 12ml cow syringes from the feedstore is just as easy. Needle on for pg, needle off for vg.

i don't mix enough to justify that cost. my NP gave me a bunch of syringes & needles, but the largest needle is only 18ga. doesn't work well with vg. i am going to find some 14ga blunts and order those. i may even check with the pharmacy here and see if they have a few.

i got the 100mg vg nic from the ejuice4u place. it is a very, very light amber color. this is first time that i've gotten nic that was in a clear jug so i could see the color. i mixed one 30ml of juice, but have not tried it, yet.  it didn't have any funky smell to it, so i guess it's okay.

Let me know how it tastes, I might just get a bit of that.

I mix quite a bit of juice at a time. 3 or 4 100ml batches, usually. You should definitely check out the feed store for those 12ml syringes. They're pretty awesome. They have these huge stainless needles....maybe 8 gauge? Luer-lock type, too, so they're easy to clean.
If you want me to pick up a couple for you, I can. I drive right past the store every day on my way to work. It's like 88c for the syringe and about a buck for the needle.
Obviously it would free for you, though. :)

i just looked thru the bag that she gave me and she put 2 20cc luer lock syringes in there. nice. that should work for my little batches.  but, i would take a couple of the lower gauge needles, since you're offering.

That's cool.

What gauge would you say this needle is?  Do you think it would fit on your 20cc?

WOW! that thing is huge! ha! i have no idea. :-/ drawing vg nic must be like a hot knife thru butter.

just now trying the juice i mixed with the new stuff. seems okay to me. if you order from there, don't forget to use that 20% off code, Vapeatron20. i don't remember when it ends.
